A motto is a short sentence that represents the beliefs of a group or organisation, usually written in Latin. Ours is fortes in fide which means strong in faith. It is taken from this Bible passage:

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. (1 Peter: 5: 8-9) 

This Bible verse encourages us to remain focused and make wise choices amid bad influences, likening them to a lion seeking prey. It urges us to stand firm in our faith against temptation and reassures us that we are not alone in facing our challenges.
